Continue reading to gain insight and understanding into the treatable condition we call Autism. It can lay the foundation for a treatment strategy for someone with autism...

We have been poisoning ourselves and our children for over 50 years and it is catching up to us. Studies clearly show that children are toxic, even at birth. This toxicity is mostly from the environment and we compound that by; overmedicating them, vaccinating them, feeding them processed foods that are loaded with chemicals and short on nutrients and have them live in homes where we use a myriad of toxins every day from plastic, to pesticides to cosmetics. We are standing around allowing this to happen and are in total denial.

At this point the odds of you being told that your child has autism is one in 91! How many more kids need to be diagnosed? What does that number need to be before we take real action...one out of every 20, 10, 5?

In 1971, President Nixon declared War On Cancer and dedicated huge amounts of money to Cancer research. Since then, Americans have spent over $200 Billion fighting that War and Cancer deaths have RISEN 69%!

President Obama's 2010 budget requests $18.7 Billion for NASA to study and explore Space and just $211 Million to study, identify and treat children with autism. That makes me sick. Where are our priorities? How many children and families need to be affected? Will it take the child of a political leader to be diagnosed with autism to change the way we look at this?

This is going to get much worse before it gets better. We CAN treat this and make it better and there are many doctors doing just that. Despite being criticized and ridiculed by many of their peers, they are making a difference, one child at a time.

Hello, my name is Dr. Michael Gruttadauria, but everyone calls me "Dr. Mike" and I have put together a book that will quadruple your knowledge of autism and teach you strategies that can increase the potential of a child with autism dramatically.

First, let me ask you a simple question:

If your child had Diabetes, could it be fixed with special educational interventions?

Absolutely NOT! In fact, it is a ridiculous question.

Well, that is exactly what has been attempted with autism over the past 50 years!

- READ ON -

You see, autism is a physical, neurological and biochemical 'condition'. The social, behavioral and language problems that children with autism display are merely the symptoms of that condition. If we knew the underlying factors, could something be done to work toward treating the condition instead of the current paradigm which seems more like a 'management' program?

The answer is a resounding YES. ...and we actually know many of the treatable issues which I will not only share with you, but will show you how to get started on the road to fixing them.

But before that, let's look at the enormous challenge you face.

Did You Know That...

In late 2009, the Maternal & Child Health Bureau of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), US Department of Health and Human Services released a study evaluating the number of children in the U.S. who currently have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. It was called the Prevalence of Parent-Reported Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder among Children in the United States, 2007, and was published in Pediatrics.

The study evaluated data from a National Survey of Children's Health (NCHS) in which 78,000 U.S. households were surveyed to estimate the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders. The households were queried if their child (ages 3-17) "currently has autism, Asperger's Disorder, Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD-nos) or other autism spectrum disorder."

The NCHS survey estimated the prevalence rate of ASD to currently be 1 in 91 children!

1 in 57 boys are affected between the ages of 3 and 17.

Other US Facts: (From the TACA website)

- A new case of autism is diagnosed nearly every 20 minutes

- There are 24,000 new cases diagnosed in the U.S. each year

- The economic impact of autism is more than $90 billion and is expected to more than double in the next decade.

- Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases.

- There is no medical detection or cure for autism.

- Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the U.S. today.

That is frightening considering that the estimates were 1 in 10,000 children in the 1980s!

To make matters worse, the interventions for this epidemic are pretty much the same as they have been for the past 40 years.

Autism does not "go away" by itself. You have to do everything humanly possible to beat this.

"The 4-year-old with autism, was once a 3-year-old with autism, which was once a 2-year-old with autism."

- Dr. Jose Cordero,
Director of the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, part of the CDC

You start at the beginning...

1. You learn everything you can about this condition

2. You find out what the top doctors that are helping children to get better are doing

3. You create an action plan for your child and get motivated.

The eBook, that I have written, Beat Autism Now! will help you with all three of these things. You see, I am not only a doctor treating children on the autistic spectrum, I have been personally affected as well.

My life was changed forever when my own child was diagnosed with PDD-nos in 2003. My wife and I sought the care of our pediatrician (who actually has a child with autism) and she told us that there was nothing to do other than behavioral therapy...and hope for the best. We went from doctor to doctor only to hear the same thing...

'there is no treatment for autism.'

I refused to accept that and have dedicated myself to helping as many children with autism and related disorders as possible.

My child is NOW COMPLETELY RECOVERED.

It is possible. Do not ever let anyone take your hope away.

There is a lot to learn and a lot to do and the clock is ticking. The earlier you start, the better off you are. That is not to say that kids of all ages can't see great improvements with a biomedical program.

I have a private practice in NY where all we do is treat these underlying problems in kids with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders). You can read a whole lot more about what we do at our website www.LISPECTRUM.com. We are helping kids GET BETTER EVERY DAY!

** A VERY IMPORTANT POINT. **
Because autism can affect almost all aspects of a child's life, it is important to attack it from every angle possible. A biomedical approach addresses the physical abnormalities that are usually found on certain blood, urine and stool tests. That is not to say that it replaces educational (special ed/speech therapy), social (such as Relationship Development Intervention - RDI/socialization groups) or behavioral interventions (Applied Behavior Analysis -ABA), in any way. In fact, they work extremely well together.

Whenever you engage in 'treatments' that target potential underlying causative factors, these treatments are referred to as 'biomedical treatments.' It can include things like diet, nutritional supplementation, treatment for bowel issues, sensory-based therapies, etc. Pretty much everything that is done to address the physical problems that are foundational to the development and progression of autism.

Dr. Michael A. Gruttadauria is the father of two children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

Over 6 years ago, after being told of his first child's' diagnosis, he set out to find a way to increase brain functionality in children on the spectrum. He spent literally thousands of hours researching the research and what he found was truly startling.

In 2006, Dr. Mike opened the facility called the L.I. Spectrum Center in Plainview, NY., and now he helps people worldwide with his new book, Beat Autism Now!

At The Long Island Spectrum Center (LISC), there is a direct focus on how fixing metabolic problems and enhancing nervous system function can improve the lives of children affected by these disorders.

We are a unique combination of clinical and educational professionals dedicated to helping kids with ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders to develop their fullest potential.

"My son Jackson was diagnosed with autism when he was almost 2 and half years old. He has often struggled to learn things that come easy to other children. He has always made progress - but it has been painfully slow. At 5 years old, he had yet to speak a single word. Not one - ever.

Eventually, I found myself in Dr. Mike's office, listening to him explain how he might help Jackson. I decided to start care, but I had no expectations. It all made sense to me, but honestly, I just didn't want to be disappointed.

After just two weeks, Jackson loved being there. He would pull me through the door when we got there, wanting to go in right away. After two months, Jackson said his first word. He was holding the letter A in his hand, looked up at it, and said the word 'Apple.'

It was the most amazing thing that I have ever heard.

Many words have followed since then. His articulation gets better every day. He has made more progress in the past year than he has in his entire life. He has gone from a boy who couldn't even make sounds, to one who has a voice. A sweet, beautiful voice that I could listen to all day long." - Michele I.

"Dr. Mike and his staff are great and Dylan enjoys his sessions there. I know they are helping him.

Our Dylan is looking at me and words are coming out of his mouth.....He is making attempts at real communication. The examples I have cited for you are not prompted, canned language. They have not been taught in a formalized manner. He is learning. He is in the now. He is aware of his surroundings. He is calmer, settled, at peace...thus he is able to take it all in.

I wish you much success on your road in dealing with Autism and all that entails....as for our family we have finally found a path and couldn't be more excited to see where we go!" - Amy C.

"I called Dr. Mike and he arranged to see us the next evening, and from that first meeting, treated us like family.

Within a few weeks of beginning care with Dr. Mike, we had a very different boy at home. We began to breathe again. For the last fifteen months, we've been able to take our son to parks, museums, indoor playgrounds, etc., without incident. Our youngest son no longer lives like hunted prey. This would have been worth any amount of money." - Angela D.
